A PPP Illustrated - The Pocahontas Parkway

Open to the public in 2002, Virginia's Pocahontas Parkway is a good example of a public-private partnership. The toll-road, located in Richmond, VA is currently operated and maintained by the Australian firm Transurban Limited, under a 99-year lease.

For the PPP Toolkit, we are using the Parkway to illustrate the stages of a highway PPP project. When you click on each stage in the graphic below, you will be provided with information on the Parkway at that stage in its evolution. The information includes links to relevant documents or other resources that you can view, download, or print.
